Lara's
Bio
|
Lara
Bruckmann, singer, was most recently seen on stage in Oakland Lyric Opera's
cabaret Girlkulture at the Scottish Rite Center and the Legion
of Honor, and in the musical sketch comedy revue For Whom the Bridge
Tolls, a show she been with for almost five years. She has played
roles ranging from Dido (Dido and Aeneas) and Aldonza/Dulcinea (Man of
LaMancha) to the Witch (Into the Woods) and Sonia Walsk (They're Playing
Our Song). Favorite and critically acclaimed non-musical theatrical roles
locally have included Rose in The Lights and Suzette in Don't
Dress for Dinner. Recently, she has been putting her energy into writing
and rehearsing her next project, divagation:an internal cabaret
(more info here). divagation
will premiere June 18th in Oakland and then run at the San Francisco Fringe
Festival in September. Lara holds a BM from Rice University and a MM from
New England Conservatory, and is founder and director emeritus of Arts
First Oakland, where she is still on the Board of Directors. She teaches
private voice lessons at her home studio and at Oakland School for the
Arts.
